Our selection for TEFAF Maastricht was enriched by Antwerp Mannerist Masters. The Master of the Antwerp Adoration and the Master of Paul and Barnabas, alongside Martin Rijckaert and Adriaen van Stalbemt, were all artists born and raised in the most creative city of the 16th century. The Wings of Saint Michael serves as a striking Mannerist expression of this era, whereas Rijckaert’s landscape aims for an exact imitation of an earthly scene. This vibrant selection is one we are always delighted to share with you during these precious annual gatherings, which bring about such meaningful encounters.
